Crowsfoot Studio creates a line of quality products designed specifically for rug hookers that the owner, Gunda Gamble, makes by hand in her workshop in Ariss, Ont. Her products range from folding cutter tables and travel frames to complete sit-on and floor-mounted stands. Gunda has been a vendor at rug hooking events and ships to customers across Canada and internationally.

DREAMS & CREATIONS, owned by Maureen and Al Robertson, is a small business located in Spencerville (just south of Ottawa). It caters to rug hookers and other fibre artists and is a Canadian dealer for Fraser wool cutters. In addition to selling Fraser and Bliss cutters and blades, Dreams & Creations provides servicing for cutters, from small repairs to major problems and sharpening blades. They also carry a selection of fibres and yarns and a variety of tools and supplies for fibre artists.

Wendo Van Essen is a fibre artist who specializes in needle felting. She creates “vegan taxidermy” animal sculptures and will do custom pet portraits on request. Wendo sells needle felt supplies and a range of kits for creating fun whimsical sculptures in wool as well as teaching workshops at fibre events.

Loretta Moore discovered hooking over 20 years ago and began teaching and making kits due to the difficulty of finding supplies in her local area. Her focus is on the primitive style of rugs: dyeing primitive colours, offering an extensive variety of primitive patterns (only on primitive linen) and kits. Loretta also does exquisite miniature punch needle, offering supplies including needles, hoops, kits and beautiful threads for mini-punch.

Hooking Outside The Lines is a fibre art business founded and led by Robin Whitford, an Advanced Oxford Certified Instructor. She teaches both rug hooking and Oxford Punch Needle online and in person, helping fibre artists develop strong skills and creative confidence at every stage. Robin offers workshops, self-paced courses, and leads The Creativity Club for Rug Makers — a thriving online membership community. Karen also teaches workshops at both the beginner and advanced levels and sells her own patterns and kits.

With over 40 years’ experience as a cabinet maker, Jacques Lepage makes wooden rug hooking frames, punch hooking frames, and other wooden fibre-related items.
As a rug hooker himself, Jacques makes his rug hooking frames so they can turn and tilt. Using beautiful cherry wood and maple wood, these frames are sturdy and light.

Carol Shewan of Willow Creek Rug Hooking is an accomplished teacher as well as an expert wool dyer and designer. She sells original Willow Creek patterns as well as several other artist’s designs. Carol’s hand-dyed wool is largely done on Dorr natural, with a few textures added for interest. She also carries hoops, hooks and other rug hooking supplies.
